Easter Egg Hunt with the family

Our family got together to celebrate Easter and the kids had a great time. They colored eggs, ate dinner, played games and then went on an Easter Egg Hunt.

My cousin Liz and her daughter Sarah. Sarah doesn't look too happy, does she?
Papa helped Alyssa color some eggs. Not sure if he realizes that she has colored more eggs in the past two years than he has but we won't tell him that.

Coloring eggs with Amelia

The girls and I painted Easter Eggs and they had a blast. Alyssa thought it was pretty cool that I wrote her name on the egg before we colored it and she couldn't see it. After it was colored the name appeared. She said that 'I did magic'. :D

My birthday

Rob and Alyssa made me a very yummy confetti white cake with cream cheese frosting. I lost track of how much I ate but I did enjoy every last bite!

Apparently this was Rob's first attempt at making a cake. Could that be really true? Thankfully Alyssa was on hand to help guide him.

All in all I think it turned out wonderful!
Rob actually gave me my present early. He took me out to La Fondue where we dined just the two of us. We actually rarely go out by ourselves, in fact, I can't remember a time that we went solo but it was nice to spend time alone. We have decided that we would 'date' at least once a week until Ryan comes. We snuck off to lunch while the kids were in school last Thursday. But then I went to the Dr. and found out that I had gained 8 pounds in the past month and our date yesterday was a 2.3 mile walk. And we went on another 2.3 mile walk again today!

Happy Hollow

We went to Happy Hollow Park and Zoo today and I have to admit that we all had a great time. This place was the best when it opened 35 years ago and they have not done anything to it since. It is pretty nasty but we all (we meaning me) looked past it and joined Shawna and her boys and it was a wonderful time. We even fed the goats!

The zoo is closing in June for 12 months and will be going through a 1 billion dollar renovation. Just in time for next summer and fun with the boys! Part of me is actually looking forward to their reopening.

Tyler getting in a little practice before Ryan comes...actually he offered to carry him and feed him the entire time we were there! Diaper changing time was a little different story though.

Rockin out with Guitar Hero

Tyler and his friend CJ are giving Alyssa and I a little musical performance. Thankfully, they are not serious about it because they aren't that good. ;)

Tyler says that he needs to practice more and the only way he can practice is if we get him the guitar hero......

photos will be updated later....google has something going on right now.

Update on Ryan

So everything I was told a few weeks ago by the Physician's assistant was wrong. She had me in a total panic about my weight gain and of course Ryan's. She said that I had glucose in my pee so that means that I have gestational diabetes. Two days later, I saw my real Dr. and she enlightened me. Thank goodness!

There is NO way to tell how big (just how long he will be based on bone measurements) he is especially when I have 10 weeks to go. The bulk of his weight will be in the last 4 weeks (about a pound a week for him they say) so his weight now is no determination of what he will be at birth. She said I was measuring big and my Dr. said I was just perfect. (I love my Dr.) My weight is good too (I had gained double the amount by this time with Alyssa so I have to agree that I am doing good. ;) ) and interestinly enough there is always glucose in my pee so that does not mean I have gestational diabetes. In fact, I am 18 points lower than I was with Alyssa. WAHOO! This is exciting news and I was so afraid that I was going to have it.

All in all, the appt went well and I am now down to seeing her every 3 weeks for 2 appts and then 2 weeks and then weekly for the last two appts.

Disney Princesses On Ice

So last Tuesday we were at the mall and while I was waiting to get the kid's pictures taken with Cinderella, I entered my name in a drawing through the radio station to win tickets to the show. Since I have never won anything like it before I didn't really think too much about it, plus we already had tickets.

Well, guess what? I won 4 tickets and so Alyssa and I took Amelia and her mom Noelle to the show on Friday. The girls had a blasted and even Amelia was excited to see the different girls in their dresses. She only knew Ariel but that was enough. Actually, Alyssa only knew Ariel last year at the same age as Amelia is now. This year, she knew three. Noelle and I didn't recognize Mulan at all. Is she even a Princess?

This morning we had dance class and then off to the Princess Show again. I think Alyssa actually enjoyed this performance better since she knew what to expect and asked questions based on yesterday's performance.

At intermission yesterday the girls wanted to know why the lights came on and the Princesses left the stage. Since we were eating I told them that they were eating their broccoli and bunny muffins like the girls were. So at today's performance, when the lights went on for intermission, she exclaims ever so loudly, "Ariel and Cinderella are eating their broccoli but they will be back! " The mom next to me was like huh? I explained what happened yesterday and she just laughed. What was I suppose to say? They all had to change their clothes so they could become a different Princess?

When Sleeping Beauty's time came, it started out with her sleeping on a bed. Alyssa asked why she was not dancing. I told her it was due to her not taking a good nap and now she is missing the performance. She took a great nap yesterday. :D Today too because she brought up again.

Even though I went twice in two days, I cannot wait till next year. To see her face when the Princesses come out and to her exclaim how beautiful they are just made my heart melt. I wish that I could have gotten pictures of her face but she was sitting on my lap. :(
