our little guy and his new love.....dirt

Ice Cream Social

Alyssa performed 4 different times with her Dance Attack class and she loved every minute of it.  From the smaller venues like her classroom to even Oktoberfest in downtown Campbell.  She thoroughly enjoys dancing and she definitely will continue.  The teachers have their eye on her to see if she would be able to participate in the Rep dance team which dances at least 3 hours a week (she does 60 min a week now) and will have at least one ALL DAY show.  The shows are also quite a bit of travel.  Part of me does not want her to get it this year as I think it might be too much of a commitment on my part.  She is not in a 4-5 but rather a 4.5 to 5.5 year class which they should be 4.5 at the beginning of the class back in August.  the teachers and Rob and I felt that she was too advanced for the regular 4-5 so we moved her up. The rep team is from 5 on up and technically she will not be 5 at the beginning of the dance year.  This may mean she is held back one year......okay by me!  But either way, Rob feels that we should make the commitment as she truly enjoys it IF they offer her a invitation.  We will see in August!  oh, crummy camera. I love it for everything but action shots!  I really need to work on this. : (

Vasona Park

These two pictures are of the GIANT hill that I have to climb while pushing a fully loaded double jogger and over 60 pounds of kids. Why do you ask?  Because I want to save $6.00.  yep, all that work huffing and puffing just to save $6.00.
James hanging out in the choo choo...not the train we wanted to ride but that train was closed for the day. bummer for the kids.  Actually, the biggest bummer is that Alyssa made a decision to hit Amelia so I had to take the carousel ride away.  She could still ride the carousel but not the train. On the way to the park, Amelia pinched Alyssa and so I had to take her carousel ride away.  The train ride is the real reason we all went anyway but I had to take something away.  Last week we went and I forgot to take cash so no train ride for the kids. I promised we would come back this week and well, their not so good choices made them miss out.  Joke was on them because when we arrived to the park we found out that the train ride was down for the day and the only mechanical ride operating was the carousel.. They begged and pleaded but I meant what I said.  No carousel ride.  They were bummed but oh well.  Shouldn't beat each other up.  ;)
Unfortunately, Ryan got hungry right before play time and fell asleep!
This is one of my favorite times with the kids...just watching them play and all get along.  Pretty soon the boys will be arguing just like the girls...;)  but like siblings, at the end of the day the love is there.

Oakland Zoo

We go all the way to the Oakland Zoo and he still has to point to the birds...ha.
out of all the pictures Rob could have got he choose the one where you can see a hiney..... gotta love him!
Pretty darn cool bats..

Alyssa had better start growing or she will have to go in the front.  None of the pictures turned out where you can see Alyssa's face.  : (  You are all probably wondering where Tyler is right?  : )  He is now beginning of the stage where his parents aren't cool enough to hang out with, well, we have been in this stage for awhile however for the most part, he would still accompany us on family field trips but not anymore.  Bummer but like Rob said, we are not getting to the point where we are a 2 kid family (for the most part) when it comes to these activities  and you all know what I am saying to that.....time to have another baby!!!

Windsor Family Farm

Here they are trying to get close and as soon as they do the run along the fence screaming. Pretty funny because if I was in that pen I would be the run screaming and running.   :  )

We spent the morning at the family farm and while I was enjoying watching the kids play and interact with the animals I was still hung up about the amount of the poop.  I know I pay a little more for 'free range' but I didn't realize what that meant. I couldn't put Ryan down on the ground even though they had beautiful grass because there was poop everywhere.  If he was walking that would have been different but he is not and well, that is just too close to the poop.
Holding the baby chickens, they were only a week old.
Holding Mamma Chicken....I was very proud of her because she held every animal that she could.  Even the tongue of cow didn't freak her out.  Freaked out mom but thankfully she was too engrossed in feeding the animals that she didn't see her mom's reaction.  ; )
Feeding the free range chickens....
Playing with the goats!
The girls went into the pig pen and the pigs were freaked out by them! I will post a picture of them at the end.  Kim, the owner of the farm, told the girls that they pigs were 2 months old and they didn't believe it!  They said they have to be older because the pigs were walking and their brothers couldn't walk at 2 months.  Funny.

When his tongue came out I jumped back and Alyssa laughed. She has been hanging around Nathan and Dominic more and I wonder if she is changing right before my eyes. The other day she came in with a cup full of rolly pollies. That would have NEVER happened last summer.

Vasona park

Alyssa and Ryan loved going down the slide....

We met a little boy from her school, Keegan, ended up meeting us there and boy did Alyssa have fun.  A few times he went to hold her hand and I tried to take a picture but they were too quick!
Ryan hanging out on the wing of an air plane.  Pretty cool!
And of course, Alyssa had to pose.
the three of them.......
